Dear Dr rock, I am so desperate, old graduate 1996, did some years of observership trainee in Canada, 4 LOR from canadian docs, average scores 82-84 first attempt(step 1, 2), applied late for match (early Nov, since I wrote step 2 late), applied for 150 internal med. no interview, just 15 rejections, talked to my friends who are in residency, mostly second years,,,,,,they all told " it is so competitive, this year they applied to our program, 400 people had double 99!!!!, and they look at your scores first and then year of graduation,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so, my candian exp. doesnt count, also I finished all canadian exams, and worked in big canadian hospitals for some months........but the way they say , ,I HAVE NO LIFE ANYMORE, THERE IS NO WAY I CAN GET IN ,,,,,,,any ideas ? I am willing to do researches, voluntary for observership and ... 12 hours a day,,,,,,,but I cant see any window, i am confused and desperate,,,,,,,, wanted to writed step 3, so maybe this score would lift others,,,,,but my friends (residenst) say that it doesnt help and it is not needed, as they always look at step 1 and 2,,,,,,,,,,,,,so,,,,,,,,,,is life finished for me ???????????????? I am .........

DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO........
(many of my friends with double 99 , whom i studied with know that I could easily get very good score,,,,,,,but the whole depression/hopelessness of the stories about old graduates, made me depressed/ inactive the last few months before my exams......I was just dishearted.........
any help would be appreciated......... what should I do now, call programs? go for observership in states.or ....

Thanks for reading my message
